Fair Committee
|
St Jude's Fair is a major fundraising event for the parish, held on a Saturday each year scheduled between late February and late March depending on the Easter calendar.
In 2010, the fair will be held on Saturday 20th March between 12 noon and 10:00pm.
While this event raises valuable funds for our parish, it also builds community spirit among all the people involved who support as well as offer their time and talents to this endeavour.

Held in the grounds of St Jude's Primary School in Scoresby, the event offers musical and dance entertainment, amusements and rides for children of all ages, food stalls featuring a range of local and international culinary tastes, a series of variety stalls including plants, pre-loved books and toys, raffles, and a favourite, the Trash & Treasure stall.
Of course, let's not forget the famous Big Wheel which offers numerous chances to win from an absolutely huge range of prizes.
The Entertainment Programme is a highlight of the fair with dance and musical performances featuring on centre stage. We see talent from the young and very young coming from our parish community, our primary schools and associated senior schools. In last year's programme we saw students from St Jude's Primary School, Holy Trinity Primary School, Mater Christi College, Emmaus College, Mazenod College, St Josephs College and also the St Jude's Youth Group Band. covering Blue's, Soul, Rock, Orchestral, Ensemble and Quartet styles of musical performance.
VOLUNTEERS
Our volunteers are the heart of the work on St Jude's Parish Fair. We depend on our volunteers to provide the support and perform a myriad of important tasks and responsibilities.
Assistance is needed for fair setup, the fair day itself and the cleanup. Please lookout for calls to assist in the church newsletter, also in the school newsletters and on the parish website. Please be generous with your time as much as possible as every little contribution helps.
SPONSORSHIP
Sponsors provide valuable support to St Jude's Fair. If you would like to support our Fair while advertising your business please let us know.
FAIR COMMITTEE
St Jude's Parish Fair Committee manage and review the operations of the fair, meeting throughout the year and taking care of the details over the fair weekend. It's a particularly busy period leading up to fair day, so please help where you can.
If you have an interest in perhaps helping or may like to assist in some way with St Jude's Fair, please contact a member of the fair committee.

Will be held on Saturday 20th March 2010. Once again we will be looking for everyone's valuable support for this annual event. Please keep the date free in your diary.
SPONSORSHIP
The Parish Fair Committee are also looking for sponsorship for the fair. If you would like to support our Fair while advertising your business please let us know.
GARAGE
The parish garage will be open from 10.00am to 11.00am each Saturday morning until the fair for donations of saleable items for the Trash & Treasure Stall, Pre-loved Books & Toys, etc. Unfortunately, we cannot accept clothing or mattresses.
PRE-LOVED TOYS
We are in need of pre-loved and new toys, games, puzzles or any similar type of children's gift that we can place on our Toy Stall. This is a very popular stall which will be situated in the parish hall come Fair time.
CAKES
We are looking for parishioners to bake a cake, make scones or short bread, etc for our cafe. If you have a few moments to spare over the next three weeks have a think of what you can bake and bring your delights along to the cafe, which will be situated in the parish hall on fair day.
Many thanks, St Jude's Parish Fair Committee. |
