The Community Centre at Work

On any given week day and night you will find a mix of parishioners from groups such as the Fair Committee, Prayer groups, the Judeans, the Quarterly lunches for seniors, Companions, our St Vincent de Paul chapter, the Zone committee, Bingo, family groups as well as service organisations from the wider community, regularly gathering in the centre to further their particular area of interest.

The community centre is a place where locals can see us at work, staging major events, to build and grow our community, whether it be the Easter morning Breakfast, the Evergreens Christmas Lunch, the notable Annual Art Show, the International Food Festival, the Fair, the Auction, Trivia Nights, the Market Night, a regional Teachers Development event or our Primary Schools' concerts and discos.

It is also a place where organisations in the community choose to hold their presentations, celebrations or fundraising evenings.

Now there are regular Youth gatherings organised by the St Judes Parish Youth Group which will continue through 2010 and onwards. July 2008 saw our parish as hosts for international visitors for World Youth Day.

Parishioners have utilised both the Reception Room and Hall to provide hospitality - following funerals, to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, weddings and Family gatherings. With our recent purchase of theatre seats, the Theatrette is now officially open. Function bookings are popular for Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons so it is advised to book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
