Please Help - Easter |

St Judes Pastoral Team invites you to share in our community’s Easter Sunday celebration to welcome new members to our Church family.
In recent years we were blessed in having Toni Blackmore & family, preparing our breakfast & until 2009 doing a big part of the end cleanup. This year we need to do something different to round off our Lenten Season, culminating on Easter Sunday. This is a special opportunity to minister to others in our parish.
Easter Sunday - Can you help please? (the more volunteers the easier & quicker it will be).
From 10 am till 11am Saturday
- We invite others to join with the pastoral team, to set up furniture, cups etc make and deliver a cake/slice/biscuits for Sunday morning.
Pre - dawn Sunday morning
- Persons to cook sausages in the oven (training given beforehand),
Immediately after mass
- Servers for tea/coffee/food
From 8.15am till 9.30am
- collect cups etc & clear tables
- Put away tables (just wheel away into the store room)
- Stack chairs at the end of the hall
- 3 People to vacuum the floor
- Dry cups/saucers/plates from the dishwasher
- Clean & clear anything left in the kitchen
Please ring the office on 9763 7302 if you can help, or put your name on the clipboard in the foyer.

Third Sunday of Lent
1. Grumpiness - irritability is a choice. We can choose to be grumpy and hang on to our right to be foul tempered, or we can choose to be pleasant and good humoured.
2. Blame - when things go wrong, stop looking for a scapegoat. Practice acceptance and responsibility.
3. Superiority - A judgemental attitude is like a rotting corpse - it spreads it’s bile over everyone in criticism and put downs.
4. Gossip - resist taking delight in someone else’s failure. Protect their reputation and let the bad news stop with you.
5. Vanity - give up self-obsession and the fantasy that the world revolves around you. Start revolving your life around God and you’ll find more joy than you ever dreamed.
6. Self-pity - everyone has to deal with setbacks and disappointments. Self-pity won’t change your circumstances; it just makes you feel powerless.
7. Resentment - unforgiveness and resentment hangs over a person’s life like dark thunder clouds. It makes your life gloomy and your presence unpleasant. It’s not worth the cost.
8. Tiredness - if you’re always tired, go to bed early. Be self-disciplined and resist the TV, internet or other recreation that steals your sleep. And if you choose not to, then at least stop whining about how tired you are! (Parents of young children exempted!)
9. Busyness - you have all the time you could ever need for the things that are important to you. Stop using a lack of time as an excuse for neglecting relationships or your health.

Spiritual Direction |
|
|
|

Spiritual Direction invites one to listen reflectively to that which is deeper than words. It is a process of helping you 'notice' how God is present in your life. One responds to this by hearing and trusting one's own inner wisdom, the place where the divine is with you.
Interested in Spiritual direction on a regular basis?
Contact Sr. Gisella at the Parish Office 9763 7302. |

First gathering of the Mums and Bubs group will be on Friday 19th March 2010 at 10.00am, then on every second Friday. All welcome.

From the weekend of 27/28th February Fr Mackay will have a supply of consecrated gluten-free hosts available at each Mass. The Ciborium containing the Blessed Sacrament will be on the Altar during communion.
These gluten-free hosts are suitable for any parishioner who is a Coeliac, or wheat and gluten intolerant, and have been passed by the Coeliac Society as safe.
Please see Father before any Mass if you wish to receive the Gluten-free host. |

Second Sunday of Lent
As Christians we are called to walk with those who are in need. This week's story introduces us to Teneille, from Derby in Western Australia. Limited job opportunities, low family literacy levels and poor health and housing are some of the issues affecting poor school performance amongst Indigenous children in the area.
Teneille participates in a program supported by Caritas Australia that is empowering children to attend school, have healthy and nutritious food and improve the school performance amongst the area's children.
Your donation to Caritas Australia's Project Compassion helps to work towards the goal of ensuring primary education for all children.

We are in need of pre-loved and new toys, games, puzzles or any similar type of children's gift that we can place on our Toy Stall. This is a very popular stall which will be situated in the parish hall come Fair time.

We are looking for parishioners to bake a cake, make scones or short bread, etc for our cafe. If you have a few moments to spare over the next three weeks have a think of what you can bake and bring your delights along to the cafe, which will be situated in the parish hall on fair day.
